We see them every week on our stages, and they all fix themselves in minutes once you know them. Here they are, from most frequent to most costly.

The 7 mistakes

In the order they sabotage a session:

• Learning your text by heart: memory shows on screen. That is what the teleprompter is for
• Starting with your most important content: keep it for take 2, once you are warm
• Wearing thin stripes or pure white: the image shimmers or burns
• Watching the return screen instead of the lens: the bond with the audience breaks
• Chaining takes without breaks: after 45 minutes, energy drops and it is audible
• Not drinking water: a dry mouth is heard on the mic by minute 20
• Wanting to redo everything: a take published at 90% beats ten takes never finished
