Your first studio session: the checklist

Good news: in a supported studio, almost everything is handled for you. What remains to prepare fits on one page, and makes the difference between a decent session and an ultra-productive one.

To prepare before coming

The studio supplies the tech; you bring the substance. The essentials:

• Your script or detailed outline, sent ahead for the teleprompter
• The exact list of content to film, in priority order
• A plain outfit, no fine patterns or logos (see our dedicated guide)
• Your interview questions if you are hosting a guest
• Your SSD if you want the rushes as you walk out; the rest (cards, teleprompter, drinks) is provided

How your session unfolds

Fifteen minutes before the shoot, your expert aligns with you on goals, lighting and set configuration. During the session, the control room drives cameras, sound and light: you just talk. On the way out, your rushes leave with you on your SSD, or by transfer within 24 hours. Details in the frequent questions.

Three habits that save time

One: rehearse your first minute out loud the night before, it sets the pace. Two: rank your topics from most to least important, so fatigue lands on the expendable. Three: keep 10% of your time to redo the best take, not the worst: you improve what is good, you do not rescue what is broken.
